I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you, how I store it and what I intend to do with it. This policy informs you about what data I collect, why I collect it and how I use it. My website is SSL protected and is fully encrypted.
If you decide to have therapy with me, I will hold your personal data in accordance to the terms and conditions set out in the counselling contract I agree with you, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What data I collect from you and how it will be stored.
The data I collect from you, will have been provided by you and will include information about yourself by filling in the contact form on this website or by corresponding with me by telephone or email, or by other means. This includes information you provide when you subscribe to my newsletter, comment on a blog post or when you report a problem with my site. The information you provide may include but not limited to your name, address, e-mail address and phone number. If you fill in a contact form I will send you a reply through a secured email program.
In case you sign up for my wellbeing newsletter via Mailchimp, you will be asked to give me explicit permission to send you my newsletter on a regular basis. These newsletters will contain valuable articles and information, and will inform you about any new services I am offering. You can decide to unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time.
All personal data provided by you via contact form and email will be stored in a Gmail inbox which is fully encrypted and password protected, and will be stored for 1 month after my last contact with you. If you choose to contact me by telephone or text, your telephone number will also be stored on my business phone for 1 month after my last contact with you. My business phone is password protected. All other correspondence from you will be stored for 1 month after my last contact with you.
When you sign up for one of my services I will only ask for necessary personal data. That data will only be used for the goal it is intended for, which is to provide the service that you have requested.
How I use your data
Your data will not be shared with third parties.
I collect data for research to gain a better insight into my customers so that I can tailor my services accordingly.
My website uses “cookies” [small text files placed on your computer) to help analyse how users use my site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of my website can be transferred to my own secure servers or secure third-party servers. [namely google analytics]. I use this information to see how my website has been used, and tailor it to offer other services that can be of use to you.

On request, I can disclose which of your data I have stored online and remove this data within 1 month. If you are having therapy with me, you can request what data I hold about you in accordance to the terms and conditions set out in the counselling contract I agree with you, and the Privacy and Data Protection Statement.
